What it costs, published in full from a Talgarth workshop.

Nobody local publishes their prices. I do. Not the cheapest, nowhere near the dearest, and you’ll know the price before you commit.

The range

Always the range, never “from”.

Fitting

Every price includes fitting.

The finish

Your call: primed and ready to paint, or fully painted. Say which at the design visit and the exact quote covers it.

Can I paint it myself?

Yes. Most people take it primed and ready to paint. You can have it completely unfinished, but I’d talk you out of it: priming means sanding between coats, and the dust goes everywhere. It’s why I built an insulated paint shed at the workshop.

Why bespoke costs more than flat-pack, and what you get for it.

Off-the-shelf systems

How it’s made

Standard frames in fixed widths and heights, picked from a range and assembled in your room.

In an awkward room

Units stop where the nearest module size stops. Gaps get left, or boxed in as a separate job.

The price

Cheapest way in; the design and often the assembly are down to you.

Made-to-order systems

How it’s made

Factory panels and doors cut to your measurements, chosen from a catalogue of parts.

In an awkward room

A proper fit on straight walls, but the room has to suit the system’s parts.

The price

Mid-range, priced per unit and door.

National fitted-furniture brands

How it’s made

Designed in a sales visit, made in a factory to a survey, then fitted and trimmed by an installer.

In an awkward room

The good ones will fit out slopes and alcoves. You’re buying their system and whoever they send.

The price

Usually quoted in the sales visit, against that day’s offer.

my work

Bespoke, built from scratch

How it’s made

I measure, draw and price the piece, then build it in my workshop and fit it myself, scribed to your walls, ceiling and floor.

In an awkward room

The slope, the alcove, the wall that’s out of true: that’s what the design starts from, not what it works around.

The price

An exact quote before anything is cut, and no deposit until you’ve seen the sketch and the number.

Whoever you’re comparing, ask three questions.

01Is the person quoting the person who’ll build it and fit it?
02Is the price exact before you commit, or does it depend on today’s offer?
03When the room isn’t square, is that a design decision or a filler panel?

My answers: yes; yes; and it’s the whole point of building from scratch.

That’s why the price is a range until I’ve measured your room. After the free design visit, the range becomes an exact quote.

Ring or text and I'll sort a time. I'll measure up, talk it through, and you'll know the price before you commit.
