Under-stairs storage for Brecon Beacons hallways, worked around the slope of the stairs and the meter cupboard.

The most awkward space in the house, used properly: drawers, doors and a real coat space, built to the triangle you actually have.

Sage-green under-stairs storage fitted beneath an oak staircase

Fitted, built-in, made to measure, bespoke: the words won’t tell you much.

Every firm in this trade uses all four interchangeably. What matters is how it’s made.

Gaps left, or boxed in.
Space and storage maximised.
How it’s soldCost, £ to £££

Off-the-shelf systems

You build it. Space isn’t maximised, and it won’t last.

Made-to-order systems

A better end product, but the room has to suit the parts.

National fitted-furniture brands

Big overheads, a big price passed on to you, and not fully custom.

I measure, draw, build and fit it.

The quote is the quote. No pressure tactics, no ‘offer ends’ rubbish.

Your space and storage needs fully realised, in your chosen style.

What goes under there

One triangle, a dozen uses.

01

Cupboards and doors

Panelled doors following the flight, so the space reads as joinery, not an afterthought.

02

Deep drawers

Full-depth drawers on runners in the dead space nearest the floor, the part a cupboard door never reaches.

03

Coats and shoes

A proper coat space with shoe storage below, built around whoever actually lives in the house.

04

The one-offs

Wine racks, dog-basket nooks, a hidden desk. If it fits the triangle, it can be designed in.

“After years of mess under the stairs, I can now find things instead of rummaging through everything.”

Questions, answered straight

What does under-stairs storage cost?

Most under-stairs jobs come out between £1,250 and £2,000. That's drawers, doors and coat space, worked around the slope of the stairs and the meter cupboard. You'll know the price before you commit.

What's included in the price?

Design, making and fitting, by me, start to finish. Pieces come primed and ready to paint, or fully painted. That's a spray finish, done in my own paint shed. Say which at the design visit and it's in the quote.

Can I paint it myself?

Yes. Most people take it primed and ready to paint. You can have it completely unfinished, but I'd talk you out of it: priming means sanding between coats, and the dust goes everywhere. It's why I built an insulated paint shed at the workshop.

How does it start?

With a free design visit. You talk, I measure, nothing is sold. Then you get the exact quote before anything is cut.

How quickly do you reply?

I typically reply within 12 hours. Ring or text on 07984 619963. Phone is quickest.
